2nd ear lobe piercing concerns?

I just got my 2nd ear lobe piercing like 3 days ago, and it still hurts and is a little swollen around each piercing, but no more than you would expect. They hurt/itch after I clean them, but that isn't what i'm worried about. On my left ear, around where my first hole is, my skin is a little dry and scaly. I put some antibiotic ointment on it, but only a little. It isn't warm, but I think it might be a little swollen, though I could just be paranoid since my mom said it isn't. Is it dry just from cleaning it, or is it infected? Also, should I be worried about how they itch and hurt? How long is it normal for my ears to be like this?
