I have two pcs that are connected by cable solely for the purpose of sharing a printer.?

I hooked up the primary just fine, works perfectly, but tried to hook up the second one (only used for printing shipping labels, is in another room) but can't seem to make it work. I've installed the drivers via the installation cd and it says it's ready but nothing happens when I try to print. Please help if you can!
